Richard Gray Director is a Barrister called to the Bar in 1986.
After being granted permission from the regulator Richard formed Elysium Law Limited. Much like an SRA (Solicitor) regulated firm, Elysium Law was granted permission to conduct litigation. In Richard’s view this had a considerable advantage over being a sole practitioner and allowed Elysium to employ a small but highly dedicated and experienced team and to work with Solicitors on a consultancy basis or brief other Counsel.
Having left chambers in 2012 Richard Gray has invested heavily in Elysium who now employs 5 full time staff and paralegals but will bring in a consultant solicitor when required. Having authority to conduct litigation Elysium Law will instruct independent counsel and therefore obtain expert advice for the client whilst negotiating a cost effective rate on the fees they pay.
Elysium Law opened its doors in 2015. Since then, they've facilitated the success of clients in various cases most notably this year. In addition to contentious work Elysium law has facilitated high quality advice in the areas of tax and company law as well as employment and Directors Disqualification and Prosecutions.
Small but effective Elysium’s team use state of the art technology in the legal research, as well as the system management and preparation of their cases. With clients as diverse as Hong Kong, Dubai and the UK. Elysium Law continually strives for excellence in client delivery.
Litigation with a Difference
Operating more like a traditional law firm, Elysium Law will brief barristers if needed right across the UK who work alongside our internal legal team headed up by experienced Counsel Richard Gray
Whether you need someone to conduct telephone or in-person court hearings, in all courts across England and Wales, or support with drafting.contracts and other legal documents. We are committed to providing high quality legal advice and expertise, at a reasonable cost, which is passed on to our clients. This sets us apart from the Solicitor firms where usually Counsel are unconnected and the result will be more expense to the client. We are a law firm regulated by The Bar Standards Board but with all the advantages offered by Solicitors. That’s why we offer free consultations to take you through your needs, the scope of your goals, and your budget.
Formerly a member of main stream chambers in Manchester, Richard started the concept of Elysium Law in 2011. He had been instructed to act for diverse clients in the United Arab Emirates in relation to a number of commercial matters that involved cross border jurisdictional disputes involving piercing the corporate veil.
Following his success and in continuance of the service of his clients Richard formed Elysium as a concept and resigned to pursue the idea to fruition. Making a deep personal investment the concept took shape and has grown into the firm it is. Dedicated to his clients, with a love for his work, Elysium has gone from strength to strength and continues to grow.
In his spare time Richard keeps fit and enjoys reading. Having taken up golf late in life he is trying to improve his handicap when time allows. A fully qualified military parachutist Richard still enjoys free falling and is planning to go back to Dubai to free-fall over the Palm when time allows.

Ruby Keeler-Williams (RK) was chosen for her ability to analyse cases when she was talent spotted in the Schools Mooting Final held at the Old Bailey Central Criminal Court in London. She was offered a place 3 years ago with Elysium Law. Ruby is exceptional in the use of computers and the litigation technology which she has helped the developer to improve and uses to assist in the handling of files. Deciding to train as a CILEX member, Ruby excelled at her studies finding that the heavy workload and experience we provided assisted her theory. Ruby is exceptionally hard working and wants to develop her litigation skills specifically. We believe she is a ‘star’ in the making and excels in everything she does.
